New York-based interior designer Antonino Buzzetta calls himself “a traditionalist wrapped in a cloak of modernity,” but we think that’s a bit of an understatement. The style maverick is a master of creating interiors that are bold and handsome, classic and unexpected, rich with clever combinations of antique and vintage pieces and contemporary elements. “Nothing breathes new life into a vintage or antique piece than mixing it with the new,” Buzzetta says. “The trick is to try not to resurrect the piece’s previous life but to reinterpret it for the 21st century.”
To prove his point, we sent Buzzetta to HighBoy dealer Rearview Modern, where he shopped for a few key pieces, rounded out with accessories from the site. The result: this irresistibly sexy collection that tips its hat to a 21st-century interpretation of mid-mod glamour. “These pieces prove there’s no reason to hold back,” Buzzetta says. “Together, they would add punch and vitality to any room.” Get ready to swoon.
