Rachel Cannon Lewis is one of those designers The HighBoy greatly admires. Like us, she believes that everyone deserves a little bit of luxury. “I don’t believe that luxury and livability have to be mutually exclusive,” Rachel says.
Our everyday lives can get fairly hectic—between carpooling the kids, meeting impossible work deadlines, cooking healthy meals, making it to the gym, or keeping up-to-date on our social lives—“luxury” often gets passed over among our priorities.
However, Rachel advocates that an easy, pragmatic, and comfortable family home can still exude luxury. All of Rachel’s rooms are designed for ultimate livability, but architectural detail and use of subtle color immediately add a layer of refinement to every room. We encourage every designer, whether professional or DIY, to take a page from Rachel’s book and not be afraid to treat his or herself once in a while.
